Sourdough and croissants before the beach even wakes up

Perro Flauta Almacén is a small grocery on Calle 9 that doubles as the best breakfast counter in town. The sourdough and croissants are baked in house, and locals line up for them before most people have even hit the sand.

Shelves stock artisanal and regional products you won't find in the capital. It shares a name with a sister project in Montevideo, but this one runs on its own, with its own sourcing.

The pastries are delicious. The full breakfast is truly complete. The prices are very good. The place is located on a super quiet block in Punta del Diablo, an important detail if you go on a weekend or during peak season, because when the town is busy there aren't many places to relax. The store is surrounded by trees and has a beautiful garden with a vegetable patch where you can have breakfast and afternoon tea—you'll want to stay. The service is excellent. Highly recommended. Just be sure to order any special items in advance because they sell out fast!
