Play Los Roques is the first thing you hit stepping off the plane, right by the main pier. It runs as a beach bar by day and a restaurant by evening, with fish burgers, tuna tacos and açaí bowls alongside a full cocktail list, plus DJs or live sets Thursday through Saturday in high season.
It's also the social hub for the kite crowd. Instructors run camps and kite safaris out of the same building, and happy hour is usually where the next morning's lesson gets planned. Gran Roque has almost no nightlife; Play is the one place that stays loud past sunset.
