A no-frills pub and grill on Chitimukulu Road

Smugglers' sits on Chitimukulu Road and reads exactly like its name suggests: a pub-and-grill stop, not somewhere trying to be more than that. Grilled chicken, beef and the occasional seafood plate come out of a kitchen built for volume, not presentation.

It fits into Mongu's small circuit of evening bars alongside Mongu Club and Go Dizzy Bar, close enough to the town centre that people bar-hop between them on a night out. Nobody's dressing up for this one.

Good to know

• Go for drinks and a straightforward grill plate, not a fine-dining night out.
