Karap Cafe sits on the plateau above Alaverdi, high enough in the Sanahin district that the gorge opens up past the terrace railing. Some maps spell it Qarap, just a different transliteration, same pin either way.

It's built around the view more than the kitchen, a coffee and drinks stop rather than a full menu. The panorama from here circulates often enough in Armenia travel groups on Facebook that you'll probably recognize it before you arrive.

Good to know

• Sit on the terrace side for the canyon view, the indoor tables just face a wall.
