Dance bar inside the Abercrombie
The floor here actually gets used. Bar Freda's took the name of the old Chippendale dance bar and moved it into a much bigger room inside the Abercrombie building on Broadway, and Broadsheet called it one of Sydney's ten best new bars of the year.
DJs play most nights and the licence runs late. It sits opposite Victoria Park, a short walk from Central Station. Turn up after eleven if you want it at full tilt.

It was an incredible experience at Bar Freda’s. The food was delicious, the drinks were tasty, and the service was excellent. We were served by Chef Ruby and Mikaia. They were wonderful in treating the customers.

I had high hopes for this place after being a regular at Cafe Freda’s but unfortunately I was left a bit disappointed. A few things; it was quite loud, meaning it was hard to hear each other at the table, and it didn’t help that our table was next to the bins, which meant our conversations were often silenced by the sound of bottles being smashed in the bin; our drinks didn’t show up and when we asked where they were, we were questioned on whether we even bought them, and then had to wait even longer for them to come; and my food had hair in it. In saying all of that, the vibe was very cool and the space looks great. I do genuinely wish I could have enjoyed it more.

Such a stunning wine bar with great service and great happy hour deals. Perfect spring afternoon spot to grab a drink and small plates. We tried something we wouldn’t normally order and we pleasantly surprised.

I had such a lovely time at Lil Sis tonight! Our server Rosemary was so kind, knowledgeable and fun, the staff really bought amazing vibes to the venue. The space is so cozy and homely. The menu is so much fun! While still bringing ✨flare✨, the wine list is extensive and the staff do a really great job in breaking it down and making suggestions. I’m the world’s biggest tinned fish fan, so seeing a selection on the menu made me so so happy and I just had to have all of it! This spot would be so perfect for a cute lil’ birthday, date or just a sweet night out with a friend. I highly recommend and will be back soon!
