Der Ledera

★ 4.9 · 117 reviews Linz Opened 10 June 2026

City Heuriger with Essigwurst, roast pork, and a ramen twist from Mühlviertel

Der Ledera opened on Lederergasse on June 10, 2026, in the space that used to run as Schindlers Heuriger, after a full renovation. The new owners kept the Wirtshaus-and-Heuriger format, Austrian wine tavern culture built around simple, hearty food, but added something unexpected to the menu: Mühlviertler Ramen, a regional take on the Japanese noodle soup, served alongside standards like Essigwurst and roast pork.

The garden holds 120 seats, the indoor room another 70. Open Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays.

Highly recommended. Lovely outdoor seating area and friendly, efficient staff. The food is excellent and the portions are generous. I'm so glad there's such a great place right in the city center.

I would give more than 5 stars if it were possible. We spent a lovely evening with friends in the beer garden. The service was very attentive, and the drinks and appetizers arrived quickly. We didn't have to wait long for the main courses either. The portions are enormous; the "small" Salonbeuscherl (a traditional Austrian dish) as an appetizer is more than enough. All the dishes were delicious, and we were more than satisfied. We had reserved a table in advance, which I would recommend, as the beer garden filled up very quickly. Absolutely recommendable!

The food was good, both hot and cold. There were six of us on a Saturday evening – we had made a reservation, which is recommended. Overall, the value for money was good – however, the drinks are a bit pricey. A positive point is the sign in the women's restroom stating that if anyone feels uncomfortable or harassed by other guests, the waiters will intervene without hesitation – I've never seen that before (see photo). All the waiters are very friendly and do an exemplary job.
