BarJo
Hasselt Opened 17 February 2026
A café built for board games, not cocktails
Skip the mixology menu. BarJo is a straight-up café where the point is pulling a board game off the shelf and staying a while, aperitif in hand. It seats thirty-four inside and thirty-eight more in the glassed-in veranda, with the Sint-Quintinuskathedraal in view from the terrace tables.
On a Fruitmarkt full of style-driven newcomers, this is the low-key, all-ages one. Family-run by Jo Lambrechts with his parents Rob and Hilde, it's the spot for a pousse-café and a slow afternoon, not a scene.
