Coffee and brunch on Rue des Carmes

Madeleine opened in January 2025 on Rue des Carmes as a café de quartier: weekday coffee and pastries, weekend brunch and lunch.

The street had spent years in the shadow of Fossés Fleuris, one block over. Now it has its own coffee address.

Had a very nice coffee at the start of the day. It was very quiet at around 10am. Would definitely recommend!

We went on Sunday about half an hour before closing, but the café was still completely full. They even took a fresh tray of cookies out of the oven, I was honestly surprised by how busy it was 🙈 The matcha latte portion was quite large and tasted good. But the real star was the cinnamon bun! I’m a big cinnamon bun lover, and this one was seriously delicious 😍 I had my eye on the freshly baked cookies too, but it would’ve been too much, so I skipped them. If I’m back here again, I’ll definitely try them.

The best breakfast, brunch and lunch place in Namur! They have the best coffees, the best bagels, the best cookies and the best staff. The service is fantastic. They really treat you like a king! 😉 Thanks to Anna, Jeanne, Jade, Romane Mélissa, Amerys and of course François!
