The Hive bills itself as cocktails and cuisine rather than a straight bar, a kitchen running alongside the drinks list. The room aims for laid-back over loud: low lighting, a mixed local and visitor crowd, enough space to actually talk.

It's open essentially every day, 11am to midnight, on Perez Street in Santa Elena. Five minutes from downtown San Ignacio, across the bridge that gives the twin towns their name.
