A tiki bar on a quiet pier south of town.

Hula Bar leans fully into the tiki concept, the kind California invented in the 1930s. Rum drinks and a deck over the water do the rest, set on a pier between Grand Caribe and Sunset Beach Resort.

It closes for stretches during vacation and renovation windows, so check the website before the trip south. Secret Beach it isn't. This stretch of South Ambergris Caye runs quieter and the crowd skews local, what locals call the Mosquito Coast.
