Watch the wool take color before it's ever woven
DrukYathra is a family workshop in Chumey Valley, the traditional home of yathra, the thick, triangular-patterned wool weave found nowhere else in Bhutan. The family does every step themselves, dyeing wool with natural methods and weaving it on backstrap looms into scarves, jackets and seat covers.
Chumey's roadside has several yathra shops selling similar work. What sets this one apart is the dyeing itself, watching color go into raw wool before it ever reaches the loom.
