Halfway up the Tiger's Nest climb, and the only toilet on the trail

You'll know exactly why you're stopping here: legs done, still a steep climb ahead, and this is the only bathroom on the whole trail. Taktsang Cafeteria sits roughly halfway up the path to Paro Taktsang, serving hot snacks, tea and simple meals with the valley falling away below.

It's not a destination on its own merits. But for a town built around the monastery above it, this is one of the most-visited food stops in the country almost by default.

A Perfect Rest Stop on the Way to Tiger’s Nest Taktsang Cafeteria is a wonderful place to take a break while hiking to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Located roughly halfway along the trail, it is the perfect spot to catch your breath, have a cup of tea or coffee, and enjoy the spectacular view of the monastery perched dramatically on the mountainside. After the climb, sitting here surrounded by the peaceful pine forest and fresh mountain air feels incredibly refreshing. The cafeteria has plenty of seating and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food and drinks are also a welcome boost of energy before continuing the hike. But the view is undoubtedly the highlight—seeing Tiger’s Nest from the cafeteria is an experience in itself. Definitely a must-stop place for anyone hiking to Tiger’s Nest in Bhutan. Highly recommended!

A very welcome stop during the Tiger’s Nest hike. After a long uphill climb, reaching the cafeteria felt like a milestone in itself. The highlight is definitely the balcony view overlooking Tiger’s Nest. We spent time enjoying marble cake, cappuccino, nimbu pani and water while taking in the scenery. The monastery looks absolutely stunning from here and it’s one of the best photography spots along the route. The food and drinks are simple but exactly what you need during the hike. Whether you’re continuing to the monastery or turning back here, it’s a great place to rest and recharge.

Takshang Café, on the way to Tiger’s Nest, serves up one of the best views you’ll find on the hike. Sadly, the food was an absolute disaster and nowhere near worth the stop for a meal. Come for the breathtaking scenery, lower your expectations for the food, and you’ll leave happier.

A nice place to have a break on the trek to Tigers nest monastry. Quite spacious and busy all the time. They have ample of indoor and outdoor seating. Washrooms were neat. Their coffee and tea options are good and tasted good. The Tigers nest monastry has a good view from this cafe. It's better to stop here on the way back from the monastery.
