An anime corner and continental plates above Baleno

The anime-drawn corner is the reason half the tagged photos from here look the same, and it sits above Baleno in the Lower Market, across from Tara Emporium. D'Cafe has moved twice since 2024, and the year is still stuck in its Instagram name.

The menu mixes continental plates with Chinese, Japanese and Korean dishes, plus cakes, pulling a younger crowd than Phuentsholing's older cafes. It's closed Tuesdays, and delivery is free if you're nearby.

Good to know

  • Free delivery if you're nearby, worth asking when you order.

New location is much better and and larger. Cosy eatery, reasonably priced, fairly good choice of mostly Korean fare in the menu. Food was good. No MSG used as per their menu.

The atmosphere and the ambience is great. Offering pads in the toilet is a noble thought, commendable. And of course, coming to food. Spicy chicken wings was amazing. However, the bibimbap can be better. The portion was huge but that made it a bit out of taste as the portion of rice was overpowering the other elements. Felt like I was eating a proper rice with curry.

I have been to a lot of cafes in phuntsholing but this cafe felt unreal. The food, service and atmosphere were amazing. Probably the best cafe in phuntsholing I reckon. Would love to visit this cafe again. Much recommended if you guys are in phuntsholing

Good ambience and service but need a major relook into the food flavour. I ordered Kare Raisu because I loved it when I was abroad, was excited to try it for nostalgia, but the Kare turned out to be something very different, it was just a boiled mix veg in haldi and jeera, I suggest you buy Kare sauce next time and keep the broth thick, also provide complementary miso soup with any Japanese order. Bibimbap my wife ordered tasted like bhutanese food and not korean, try adding more gochujang sauce.

The food is both comforting and absolutely delicious. The place is cozy, perfect to sit and talk over a cup of coffee or a glass of beer.
