Twenty suites in Olakha, run by the tour company that built it
These aren't hotel rooms, they're suites: twenty of them, each with its own living area, timber-lined walls, and furniture cut to contemporary Bhutanese patterns instead of the carved reproduction sets most Thimphu hotels use.
Bhutan's tourism department gave it an official four-star classification in its first year, unusual for a property this size. The trade-off is the address. Olakha is a working part of southern Thimphu, not the tourist strip, so you give up the walk into town for a quieter night.
Good to know
- Every room is a suite with a separate sitting area, so it works better for long stays than for one night in transit.
- Olakha is south of the centre, fine with a car or a taxi, a long walk to Norzin Lam.

I had a wonderful vacation in Bhutan. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a beautiful interior design. The views were breathtaking and added so much to the overall experience. I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it !!!!!! 🩷

If you prefer a quiet, design-forward hotel with large rooms and high-quality food, Access Suites is one of the best value-for-money luxury options in Thimphu. It’s particularly well-suited for those who don't mind being just outside the noisy city center in exchange for more square footage and a peaceful night's sleep.

We had a lovely stay at this property. The rooms were very nice spacious cozy and so was the food. We had stayed for three nights and had 4 rooms, one being a family suite. Would love to go back to this property whenever in Thimphu.

My first hotel in Bhutan and wow. Isn't this really a treat. The welcoming drink is marvellous. It's so delicious. I sense there is another besides lemongrass, but don't know what. The room is spacious. I have room 305. A family room. It was great. The food was also very nice with a lot of choices.
