Wire baobab trees and animal figures, made on the spot on President Avenue.

Wire Baobab Art Shop sells wire-sculpted baobab trees and animal figures, a craft found across southern Africa. Here on President Avenue it gets its own storefront. Pieces range from palm-sized ornaments to metre-tall trees, built branch by branch from recycled and coloured wire.

It's one of a handful of independent curio shops in central Kasane. The pieces are made on site here, not trucked in.
