Coffee by day, river sunsets by five
Grab a window seat on Coronel Teixeira and watch the Rio Negro turn orange. Vista Rio runs a proper coffee programme, but the real draw is the light show that starts around five.
Get there before five. The sunset crowd fills the place fast, and the good seats go first.

My stay in Manaus has offered me exceptional gastronomic experiences. And Saturday morning was no different; I was taken to Vista Rio for breakfast. Having already heard about the best sandwich in Manaus, the X-CABOQUINHO, my order couldn't be anything else. A seemingly simple sandwich, yet full of flavor. It can be served with tapioca or French bread; mine was on French bread. The sandwich basically consists of bread, plantain (known as Pacovã in Manaus), coalho cheese, and tucumã. The bread is lightly toasted, the combination of coalho cheese and plantain is balanced in flavor (sweet and savory). And the tucumã provides a consistency that balances the sandwich in flavor and, especially, in texture. Personally, this fruit tastes like cake batter. That kind of cake without a defined flavor, but very pleasant. That's how I would describe this fruit. And everything comes together magically from the very first bite. Crunchiness, flavors, and textures that are more than pleasant make up a typical Manaus flavor. Along with this delicious treat, and as a good São Paulo native, I ordered a coffee with milk. And to my surprise, the establishment simply places two bottles (one of milk and one of coffee) on your table. So, you can help yourself generously and enjoy the flavors and a unique view of the Rio Negro. It was a sublime experience.

Wonderful! I ordered a tapioca with chestnut dough and filled with sun-dried beef and curd cheese; it was the best tapioca I've ever eaten. I also ordered a Coke Zero, and the bill came to 63 reais. It's not cheap, but it's compatible with the location and the quality. Not to mention that the tapioca was huge. The sunset view was from the side, but it didn't detract from the beauty of the moment. I was served by Diego, who was very polite.

The place is beautiful, the view is wonderful, the service is very good, and the food arrives very quickly. The prices aren't the cheapest, but it's worth it for everything it offers. I would definitely go back more often! I went on a normal day at 4 pm, but I believe that around 5 pm it starts to get crowded and it can be difficult to find available tables.

A refined café with a creative menu blending local cuisine with traditional breakfast items. Pleasant atmosphere, featuring an air-conditioned indoor area and an outdoor area on the banks of the Rio Negro. A strategic spot to have coffee and watch the sunset while observing the river. The main option is the x-caboquinho! Very tasty!
