Banlung's longtime pancake spot with a forest view

The pancakes are the reason people keep coming back. One traveler called it the best they'd ever had, and it's easy to believe once you're seated at the quiet forest-view tables out back on Street 78A.

The kitchen also does solid Khmer and Western plates at low prices, with vegetarian and vegan options throughout. Cafe Alee has outlasted generations of travelers passing through Banlung, and it still lands on shortlists of the best places to eat in town.

It's okay if you want to have something different than Khmer food. Very good are the salads, spaghetti with bamboo is nothing spectacular and if you order beef moussaka don't expect a regular moussaka, it's in fact a low carb lasagna.

Pizza, desserts and coffee milkshake are amazing! Big menu with many options and the restaurant itself has a nice and rustic ambience. Highly recommended!

We arrived at noon 3 friends very hungry at got a happy surprise! The owner is a welcoming man and was polite and helpful. I ordered a hamburger with french fries and cheddar cheese on top which was far enough for one man and my friends ordered a beef curry and a toast (which also comes with fries) . The dishes came pretty quickly the food was tasty and the place was silent and comfy.
