Nine floors up, Banlung's highest bar with a view over the whole town

Nowhere else in Banlung gets you this high. Starry Sky Bar sits on the 9th floor of Yeak Loam Hotel, the closest thing to a high-rise in a town where most buildings top out at two stories. Cocktails run alongside a menu of international and local plates.

The view is the whole point. Banlung spreads out below, with Kan Seng Lake visible from the terrace, an odd sight in a province known for waterfalls and crater lakes rather than skylines. Go for a sundowner, then head back down to eat at street level.

• Open evenings only, 6pm to 11pm.
• Go for sunset; the 9th-floor view takes in the town and Kan Seng Lake below.
