The Melk team runs Café le 9e inside the Eaton Centre, taking on the challenge of a specialty café in a mall. It's considerably better than that setting predicts.
The name nods to the ninth floor Eaton restaurant that closed decades ago. Tastet listed it in 2025.

The cafe is a very small, bright place in the shopping center. The iced mocha (not pictured) was made not too sweet, which is to my liking. The matcha latte was offered with or without sugar, which we declined. The matcha is vibrant green and has a nice subtle aroma. The two staff were friendly and quick, but there was no seating in the store and everyone was sitting outside in a side lobby area, where cups and plates were piled up on empty tables. In busy hours, there might not be seating available.

The perfect first stop after our drive from NY! Located right in the Time Out Market, this cafe offered exceptional service from an incredibly kind and attentive staff. The triple chocolate chip cookie was phenomenal, and the Latte Mocha was crafted to perfection—served at just the right temperature with a flawless balance of flavors. A must-visit for anyone exploring the market!

good spot to escape the chaotic atmosphere in the mall. the seating area is in the back, connecting to the office area lobby. the cookies are pretty good! the barista makes great latte art and espresso is nice

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Staff is amazing and honestly I appreciate them being more down to earth people and not forcing a fake smile just because they sell me coffee or something else to eat. Absolutely loved them and great conversations! (give these people a raise !!) Even with how busy it gets they do an amazing job! A bonus is they remembers my order even though I had only been there twice prior which makes my week 🥹 The staff and coffee warm my heart ❤️
