Coffee, secondhand books and local art since November 2024

Kafê Djan Djan opened in November 2024 and became the spot for Mindelo's digital nomads and expats within weeks. Part café, part bookshop, part gallery, the walls rotate through local artists' work. The wifi pulls as many people in as the coffee does.

The owners also run pop-up shops for other small local businesses in the same room. Their sister restaurant, Syds in Prainha, draws the same crowd. Get there by mid-morning if you want a table: by lunchtime the laptops have taken over.

A very nice cafe in the middle of the center of Mindelo with a variety of changing cultural events organised by Paulina, the owner. Very good wifi btw. Big shout out to the waitress chris, who makes the best bacon sandwiches and the best iced caramel-coffey (not too sweet) in town.

I found this cafe while wanding around the local area. The Manager/Owner Paulina was very friendly and welcoming. This is now my 3rd visit and it has yet to dissappint. The coffee here is fantastic and the food is even better. It has a very relaxing atmosphere with a rivieria vibe, very chilled and comfortable. I highly recomend a visit to anyone visiting, you wont be let down....

The selection is very quality and everything is tasty and well prepared. I definitely recommend this place. The lady at the counter could be a bit more friendly and smile a little more, but despite that it’s still a 5-star place. There is also Wi-Fi available.

we had two sandwiches and caramel coffee. Prices are very high for the portion sizes. Service was painfully slow: 45 minutes for coffee and food, even though we were the only guests.
