Cuban chain coffee, ice cream and frappuccinos
For a peninsula where most morning coffee comes from a resort buffet, it's become a default stop for residents and travelers wanting a proper cup and a place to sit.
Cafeccino is a private Cuban chain with locations across the island, and its Plaza Hicacos branch on 1ra Avenida is one of Varadero's few dedicated coffee shops rather than a hotel lobby stand. Espresso, cakes, ice cream and frappuccinos are the draw, in a room built for lingering.

afeccino Varadero #2 is a truly great place. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the coffee is excellent, and the pastries are delicious. The café is high-class by Cuban standards and offers a very pleasant atmosphere. A place worth visiting and coming back to. Highly recommended.

Cafeccino Varadero is a popular local spot with a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The drinks and desserts are reasonably priced and make for a pleasant break during your day. One thing to note is that the café accepts pesos only, but you’ll often find locals right outside who are willing to exchange currency if you need pesos on the spot. Overall, it’s a nice place to relax and enjoy a treat at good value.

Honestly, I can't say it's a bad thing. If you're a tourist, they only accept cash and pesos. They do accept card payments from Cubans, but the system is very slow, so you'll have to wait a long time. But all their desserts are fresh and delicious, and the frappuccino is legendary. They do their best.

Very friendly staff. Cakes and tarts were amazing. Best pastries I had while in Cuba, and honestly on par with what I would get in the city in Montreal. AC. Very busy but very worth the wait. Came twice to get extra desserts for the hotel room. They have Pepsi and sprite available in a can too. Prices are VERY good. Bring peso. 100% try the lemon tart!

This spot totally lives up to the hype! The pastries are honestly some of the best you’ll find in Cuba, with tons of options to choose from. The coffee? Also excellent. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the super friendly staff-always smiling and making you feel welcome, even when it’s busy. Sure, you might have to wait in line sometimes, but trust me, it’s absolutely worth it!
