The old patisserie corner is back, board games included

Grab a pastry, then don't rush off. Konditorhjørnet kept the old patisserie counter Esbjerg knew for decades and built a café and bakery around it, with a shelf of board and card games for anyone settling in for the afternoon.

It's part of the Højvangbager bakery group, so the bread and cakes come from the same ovens as the group's other Esbjerg shops. Morning bread sells out fastest around events at Musikhuset a few streets over.

Good opportunities for groups or the like to get something to eat, and possibly play one of the local board games. There were a couple of mothers with their babies. As well as a knitting club. Yes, I think there are opportunities. The food was ok, but the cake was better.

I had s nice biscuit with chocolate and some chantilly. What drops my review score is the hot chocolate: a huge glass of milk with too few chocolate in it. A disappointment considering all the beautiful sweets and candies on the counter.

We ordered our wedding cake here and it was a great experience from start to finish. Good communication, reasonable prices, nice tasting, friendly service and not least FANTASTIC taste and beautiful cake. First of the week we had to let them know which flowers were in the bridal bouquet and then they used some similar ones. Nice little detail. They deliver against delivery and help with assembly and guidance on cutting at the party venue. We were very satisfied.
