Pancakes and croissants, four mornings a week

Skip the hotel buffet and head to Nova Plaza for pancakes and croissants next to standard Manabí morning plates. Marthas only opens four days a week, from half past eight, so check before you plan around it.

It sits a few doors from Las Mulatas and Le Blé, part of a small wave of breakfast spots that landed around the same plaza within a year of each other. Cash and card both work, no reservations, just show up early.
