Malú Boutique calls itself the Santa Elena Peninsula's favorite clothing store, bold talk for one storefront across from the Supermaxi. But the stock backs it up: tailored, dressier pieces instead of the swimsuits and cover-ups that fill most Salinas racks.

The physical shop works more like a showroom. Like most small clothing stores on the peninsula, sales run through Instagram, with orders shipped nationwide well beyond Salinas.
