Skip the rooftop bars for one night. Foliá is a small café off a plaza a block from the Barceló hotel, and it only opens at 5pm, Wednesday through Sunday, so there's no breakfast rush to fight through.

The menu got reworked recently enough that regulars noticed. Come for coffee and dessert rather than a full dinner, and enjoy the quieter end of a stretch known for its louder rooftop bars.

Good to know

• Only open Wednesday to Sunday, and only from 5pm, don't plan a morning stop.
