The malecón's small crossover-music disco, no cover charge

Skip the rooftop discotecas with their cover charges and open-bar pricing. Aloha is a smaller room right next to Banco del Pacífico, built around crossover music instead of the reggaetón that dominates its bigger neighbors, and it fills up fast because of it.

The crowd runs mixed-age, mostly 20s and 30s, here for cocktails and dancing without the bigger clubs' price tag. It's been a fixture on this corner for years.

• It's small, go early on weekends if you want space to dance.
