Zamalek's cult bakery, with its first branch outside Cairo.
Fornalia is a Cairo import, a cloud bakery out of Zamalek that opened its first branch outside the capital at Fanadir Marina in the summer of 2024. Bread and pastry are baked fresh on-site rather than shipped down from Cairo, alongside the coffee program that built the brand's following on El Maraashly Street.
Breakfast crowds pick it over the marina's sit-down restaurants for something quick before the beach. The Zamalek original still runs delivery-only in Cairo, so El Gouna is one of the few places to actually sit and eat there.

Amazing pistachio croissant, served warm and with a lot of pistachio cream. Coffee and matcha were also tasty. The barista was friendly and professional.

Potentially a great option for indulgent croissants and other baked goods, hot drink available. Unfortunately this spot lacks the quality that it aims for. Prices aren’t a match to quality of service, location comfort / setting and overall no attention to details shows from the gecko. Plenty of room for improvement and great potential.
