Casa Taba sits inside Steigenberger Hotel & Nelson Village, the resort at Taba's border crossing that spent years as a Hilton property before Deutsche Hospitality took it over in 2023. The restaurant kept its name and its white-trellised terrace through that change, and still runs an Italian menu, pizza and pasta, alongside whatever the hotel's beach barbecue is doing that night.

It's a hotel restaurant in the plain sense: guests eat here because it's steps from their room, but the terrace over the water makes it worth the walk even if you're staying elsewhere in Taba. Locals from the handful of other properties nearby turn up too, according to the hotel's own social posts thanking guests and locals alike.

  A mediocre Italian restaurant. The pasta is good, but all the other dishes were not to our taste. The fish was very dry and tasteless, the calzone was burnt and had no sauce (mostly dough), the salad was disproportionate to the tomatoes and cheese. There are better restaurants than this...
