Bisrat Cafe

★ 5.0 · 5 reviews Lalibela Opened Opening date unknown

Directions

Bayenetu and sunflower-seed milk, cash only.

Order the bayenetu, the fasting platter of vegetable dishes piled on injera. The shiro keeps coming up as the highlight, and the sunflower-seed milk has been filmed by more than one travel creator.

Bisrat is a small local place on Maydegim Street, priced accordingly. Cards don't work here; bring cash like at most of the smaller cafes in town.

One of the best places to have local food . The place is run by a youngwoman who has a great talent for cooking delicious food. I has tibs at many places in ethiopia but loved it here. Scrambled egg and mutton , Veg Bayanet are very tasty . Already Missing the food :)

Bisrat Cafe is a neat and authentic restaurant located in the heart of Lalibela. It is a very accessible location, and popular amongst the locals. The owner and servers are very friendly, and will make sure you have a great experience. I stopped by there multiple times during my stay in Lalibela, and the food and drink were always wonderful. The menu has a wide variety of options, all of which are delicious. The traditional coffee is amazing, complete with incense. As someone else mentioned, you definitely want to try the Telba (flax seed beverage). If you're in Lalibela, do yourself a favor and visit Bisrat Cafe!

Great local restaurant with amazing beyayenetu (vegen variety) and vegetable shiro. Make sure to try their flaxseed juice. If you're coming for lunch on fasting days (Wednesday and Friday) don't arrive too late since it gets very busy.

We had our best Injara&Shiro so far and also at the fasting day we had the most tasty Bayenet(Injara with a lot of different add of vegetables). Nice and clean, right across the road from the cultural center of Lallibela. Really recommended!
