Matcha, done properly, in the heart of Aix
Café Adoré opened on rue Fernand Dol on August 1, 2025, run by Maya Delort. No standard espresso and croissant routine here, the whole menu is built around matcha drinks and elixirs, one ingredient instead of a dozen.
The room mixes Japanese restraint with Scandinavian warmth, wood tones and clean lines instead of the wicker chairs on Aix's postcard squares. It's an address for a specific crowd, and a sign that the matcha wave has finally reached Provence.

Café Adoré quickly became my favourite stop in Aix. Maya’s philosophy of treating matcha with the same care as specialty coffee shines through in every cup. The matcha brownie was heavenly, and I still regret not buying a matcha mug. I suppose that just gives me the perfect excuse to return.
