A stripped-back gelato counter facing the Monoprix

Skip the pastel-parlor look. Melt runs a plain counter on rue Notre-Dame with a short menu: Italian-style gelato made in small batches, coffee, waffles and crêpes.

It's a walk-up spot, not a café, so most orders leave in a cup or cone. Handy stop crossing the old town from the Monoprix across the street.

We tried a crêpe here for €4.50. For the price, I honestly expected it to be a bit better. The shop itself has a nice design and looks modern, which gives a good first impression. 😊 However, the crêpe was rather average for me and did not really stand out compared to other places. The same goes for the ice cream — it was okay, but not something I would especially come back for. 🍦 Overall, it is a nice-looking place, but based on my experience, the taste did not fully match the price.
