A no-frills canteen that got too popular for one address
Skip the cocktail list and the plated-for-photos food. Kouk is a weekday lunch canteen at 1 rue Henri Fabre serving fresh, mostly local, home-style dishes at honest prices, the kind of place you eat at out of habit, not for an occasion.
It caught on fast enough that a second spot, known locally as Kouk 2, opened across from the Conservatoire on rue Général Leclerc in June 2026. Same concept, different neighborhood.
Good to know
- Weekdays only, 8am to 6pm. Skip it if you're planning a Saturday lunch.

A pleasant, air-conditioned spot, which is no small thing during the summer heat for an iced tea, coffee, and a small fruit salad. The downsides: the iced tea was a little bland (or perhaps not sweet enough), and the fruit salad was quite small and lacked variety. In short: a nice place, but one that could definitely be better!

Very tasty vegetarian sandwich enjoyed by the park. Smooth operators at a fair price. Unlike most vegetarian sandwiches this one had some flair - caramelized onions, teriyaki winter squash, spinach, 5 spice cream cheese on a Kaiser style bun. Spot on folks - chefs kiss
