Le Panda d'Or

Vaitape's reliable Chinese kitchen, no fuss attached
Bora Bora runs on fine dining and beach snacks, which is exactly why Le Panda d'Or matters. Noodles, fried rice, sweet and sour classics, portions big enough to take home. It sits across from the Saint James restaurant in central Vaitape.
Nobody's calling this a destination restaurant, and that's the point. It's affordable, consistent, and open daily except Sunday, the place locals actually cook for on a random Tuesday night.
Good to know
- Good for takeout if you're staying nearby in Vaitape.
- Closed Sundays.

Restaurant Le Panda d’Or is a nice spot if you are looking for something different while in Bora Bora. It has a relaxed, casual feel and gives you a break from the usual resort food, seafood, and island-style dining. Sometimes when you are traveling, finding a solid Asian or Chinese-style restaurant is exactly what you need because it gives you a familiar, comforting meal without making the whole thing feel overly fancy. The atmosphere feels simple and welcoming, and it is the kind of place that works well when you want good food in a more laid-back setting. Definitely worth checking out if you are nearby and want a change of pace from the typical Bora Bora restaurant options.

A great option for vegans and vegetarians visiting Bora Bora - they made me a tofu and vegetable stirfry, which was a perfectly healthy and tasty dinner for me

This was the most average tasting Chinese food, it hit the spot since we were craving Chinese food, but it’s nothing to rave about.

We were pleasantly surprised to be able to get tofu here by asking, even though it wasn’t on the menu. There are several mixed “vegetarian” vegetable dishes available, without descriptions of what is actually in them. The one we got had mushrooms of various kinds with broccoli, carrots, and celery, and came in a simple sauce which was flavorful. We asked for hot sauce on the side. Seems to be a good option for vegans and vegetarians! Friendly staff.

I am a Taiwanese. I am surprised to have tasted authentic Chinese food in this restaurant. I ordered sweet and sour pork, broccoli beef.
