Afghan and Persian plates on the old town ring road
Saffron rice next to grilled kebabs, Afghan and Persian cooking kept side by side rather than blurred into one menu. That's the pitch at Safran, on the Untere Laube where Konstanz's old city wall used to run.
A weekday lunch service from noon to 2pm sits alongside regular dinner hours, handy given the address is a short walk from both the train station and the harbor. It's one of several independent Middle Eastern and South Asian kitchens that have landed on this stretch of the Laube since 2025, pulling the city's dinner options away from the usual Alpine and Swiss-leaning menus.

Food was good, service was slow took 45 minutes to all the food to arrive. Prices are quite expensive for Germany.
