Turkish meze and a garden terrace near Münchener Freiheit
Orta opened in April 2025 on Bismarckstraße, a few minutes from Münchener Freiheit. Brothers Ersan, Eren and Ulaş Tutu built it around sharing plates rather than solo mains.
The kitchen moves through classic Turkish and wider Mediterranean meze, from cold starters to grilled mains, and most of it lands on tables out in the garden. That garden has turned into one of the better outdoor spots in Schwabing.

We had a wonderful experience at Orta. The food was delicious and full of flavor. The atmosphere is so warm, inviting and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. You can tell that a lot of care goes into every detail. And the desserts were a dream! Great hospitality overall.

We had a delicious mediterranean dinner here. Each of the meats were so tender, no knife needed. The medleys of flavors on the plates were amazing. The wine list was limited, but cocktails were nice.

The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere and the decor in the restaurant is really warm and modern. The food is also very tasty, light on the stomach and diverse. We were specially delighted with the range of vegetarian and vegan options.

We went as a group and were served a special meze tasting menu just for us. The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was very flavorful. However, the portions were quite small and the prices somewhat high. It seems better suited for special occasions or celebrations, such as a Turkish raki night. Smaller groups might have a better experience, as large events could lead to higher charges if prices are fixed. I would definitely go again, even if not very often—perhaps once a year for a Turkish raki evening with friends or family.
