Real Japanese cooking, hidden inside a hotel
Athens has gone hungry for serious Japanese food for years, and Onuki is the fix. It runs a full kitchen through robata and raw preparations, not a sushi counter propped up in a lobby, inside The Ilisian, the redevelopment of the old Athens Hilton on Michalakopoulou.
Prices sit at proper hotel-restaurant level, so come for a real dinner rather than a quick bite. Book ahead if you want the robata dishes hot off the grill.

Great food and service. The price reflects the quality you get. The music was quite loud and the tables are close together so that a conversation is not the easiest. Sushi was good, in my opinion there is still a lot of potential with the sushi rice which was very bland.

Dinner at the new entry of the brand new Conrad The Ilisian (ex Hilton) and no disappointment there (maybe the tartare portion could be larger). Sushi lovers will find a favorite spot here … really liked the scallops and the beef tataki. Top-notch service and ambience straight from large metropolitan restaurants.
