Delhi's all-day cafe lands in Kolkata's art deco Hindustan Park
CAARA landed in a heritage art deco building in Hindustan Park, running breakfast through dinner with coffee, cakes and snacks stacked in between.
Start with the chilli avocado toast, then the truffle salami pizzette on fresh Napoletana dough. About Rs 3,000 for two.

Elegant ambiance. Delicious food with decent portion size. Good atmosphere. On receipt it says "voluntary contribution (optional)" but the servers charge it without informing customers or asking for consent. This forced charity left a bad taste. Won't be coming back.

The atmosphere was good and the staff were also good. But the food was not that great for my taste. Too much price and the food is not at all at par with it.

A great cafe located in the building that has the Good Earth store. The cafe has excellent service, very relaxing interiors and a great selection of all day dining items very well plated and more importantly the taste profiles were perfect Kudos to the chef

Caara is one of those restaurants that instantly makes you feel *sophisticated* the moment you step in—almost like you’ve accidentally wandered into a scene from a lifestyle magazine. The interiors are sleek, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, with a vibe that says “we care about aesthetics almost as much as we care about flavor.” It’s a place you go when you want more than just a meal—you want an experience. Now, let’s talk about the food. The dishes at Caara are undeniably beautiful and crafted with attention to detail that’s hard to ignore. Every plate looks like a piece of art, and the flavors often live up to those elevated expectations. That said, you’ll quickly notice that the prices here are on the higher side. This isn’t the spot for a casual ₹200 lunch; this is the kind of place where your eyes widen a bit when the bill arrives—mostly because each dish feels like it’s priced to match the ambience *and* the presentation. Is the food worth the price? Well… that depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re after refined plating, creative recipes, and a dining experience that feels special, Caara delivers. If you’re on a budget or just want hearty portions without the premium tag, this may not be your first choice. The portions can feel modest relative to the cost, but every bite does reflect thought and technique. The staff are attentive and professional, adding to the upscale feel, and the overall environment is relaxed yet elegant. You’re not rushed, and the service matches the vibe of the place. In short, Caara is *expensive*, yes—but it’s also polished, stylish, and perfect for occasions when you want to treat yourself or impress someone. Just be ready to pay for that touch of finesse.
