Clean eating lands on Surat's sweet-shop strip

Skip the syrup-soaked sweets for once. The Sattva Cafe sits below the Axis Bank branch on Ghod Dod Road, near Kalyan Jewellers, and it's built around healthy eating rather than the dessert-and-photo format most new Surat cafes chase.

Ghod Dod Road is one of the city's older commercial stretches, thick with traditional sweet shops and bakeries. A cafe here betting on clean food instead of sugar is a real change of pace.
