D'Decor's eco furnishing line opens its first-ever store, in Surat

Sansaar is D'Decor's premium furnishing label, eco-leaning upholstery, curtains and bedding from the Mumbai textile house. Surat got the first dedicated Sansaar store anywhere in the country, spread across two levels at Homeland City on the Udhana-Magdalla road.

Surat makes sense as the pick. The city weaves a huge share of India's synthetic fabric, so a brand arguing about fibre and finish is arguing in the right room. The store is set up like a working library: fabric hung by weight and weave, bedding on one floor, upholstery on the other, and made-to-measure is the default, not the upsell.

Good to know

• Bring your window measurements, most of the range is sold by the metre and made up to order.
• The bedding and upholstery sit on separate levels; ask downstairs for the full curtain library.
