A tiny Japanese-style room built for the food, not the meeting
Come here to actually taste dinner, not to catch up loudly. Riis is a small Japanese-styled room on Tērbatas iela serving gyoza, wonton soup and house mochi, and it's hushed enough that a big conversation would feel wrong.
The lemon mochi has its own following. A second counter runs at the Āgenskalns market for the left bank crowd. Prices stay modest, portions are Japanese-sized, and the lunch queue tells you the neighbourhood already knows.

Loved this low-key spot for a quick dinner - they specialize in wontons (which are excellent!) Our 4 year old was super happy there and the staff were so warm and helpful. Highly recommend. Kimchi was great too.

The food is tasty and the prices are excellent. The staff is very helpful and waiting time is short. Definitely stop by for a bite if you are near. I would also recommend to try the kombuchas that they have and their mochis are a perfect dessert after wontons.

We visited Riga and found this cozy place. The staff is friendly and speaks good English. I am Chinese and I really like the taste! I recommend pork and shrimp wonton.

Love the interior of the little restaurant, very nice and approachable staff; pretty small menu; the dumpling were good but the fillings and the broth wasn’t our favourite as it wasn’t as flavourful or harmonious. BUT the MOCHIS were the BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD - you neeed to get them, they have such interesting flavours, prefect consistency and just uhhhg please. If you ever want to get mochis as a snack or dessert go to this place

It’s a tiny venue that can easily be skipped, but I urge you to come in and try it! Wontons with chicken stock will heal your soul! Super tasty! Delivery is amazing as well - food is always hot and tasty.
