Grilled seafood and live Malagasy music nightly

Le Corail took over the address and the reputation of the old Chez Alain on Rue de l'Indépendance. It kept doing what made the previous restaurant a fixture: grilled fish and langouste, priced by the catch, in a dining room large enough to double as the town's default live-music venue most nights. A Malagasy band plays every evening, and the place fills up faster than its size suggests. Booking the day before is local advice, not a formality.

Sunday brings a seafood buffet that draws a mix of residents and tour groups on their way to the Avenue of the Baobabs. It's not a quiet dinner spot. Le Corail is where Morondava goes to eat well and stay out late doing it.

Great service, great food. Big portions, even for me. Menu in 3 languages with lots of choice, would definitely recommend this place.

Le Corail is one of those simple, no-frills places where the food does all the talking. It may not be the neatest or most posh spot, but don’t let that fool you—the food is genuinely good and worth coming back for. The staff are very cordial and welcoming, adding a warm, human touch to the whole experience. You feel taken care of in a quiet, unpretentious way. If you’re someone who values taste over luxury, Le Corail is a place that delivers where it truly matters.

That’s a very nice restaurant with affordable prices and everything is absolutely delicious, even fries and veggies salad. Needless to say the sea food. Once tried, we decided to have all dinners and lunches here

Had lobster with cheese. I enjoyed it. It was enormous for 100 Ar. Come with local cash though- they except USD and Euros but the rate is not good.
