Malagasy dishes under the bougainvillea
Le Renala runs its restaurant under a canopy of bougainvillea between the bungalows and the beach, with a menu built around traditional Malagasy dishes made from locally sourced ingredients rather than anything flown or shipped in. It's part of a small hotel, Renala au Sable d'Or, but the restaurant draws diners who aren't staying there, especially for its occasional evenings built around a visiting chef and a seafood-focused menu.
The setting does most of the work: garden, pool, and a bar at the water's edge, quiet enough that the restaurant feels more like a private table than a hotel dining room. It's one of the addresses locals suggest for a meal away from the noisier cluster of restaurants near the tip of the peninsula.

An exciting, yet romanting and charming stay! The staff is overwhelmingly friendly and helpful, they even watch your car and your bungalow when you are going out! Right in front of the hotel is a nice beach soccer court where the locals play in the evening and its beautiful to watch. The pool was very clean and absolutely refreshing to jump into with a nice bar right there where they serve perfect refreshments at any time! Even the restaurant surprised us with its many dishes and quality. In short: We really enjoyed our stay at this relaxing but living accommodation!
