The lake-facing bar cool enough to camp beside
Club Marina sits on Old Town Road facing the lake, in the older part of Karonga that predates the newer M1 development. A group of journalists once camped here because of the heat, writing that the club faces the lake and gets a cool breeze.
It runs its own beer tastings and events rather than just serving as a hotel bar. It's listed as specialty lodging as much as a bar, but the bar gets talked about more.
Good to know
- A journalist who camped here specifically noted the lake breeze cuts the district's heat, worth an evening drink outside for that alone.

It's expensive thought relatively fair

Rooms are not the greatest but I just loved the staff

No showers were working and the backup generator was not big enough to run the A/C, so we sweated it out. Our price was reduced from 18,500 MKW to 15,000 as a result. They allowed us to keep our 5 children with us in the same room with no extra charge other than pay for the extra breakfasts.

Perfect, simple rooms. A kitchen that cooks great food, and the greatest location to springboard and see Karonga town.
