Grilled mar y tierra on Bacalar's public lagoon beach

Order the octopus tostadas and the rib chicharrones first, the two dishes that built this place's name. ITZÁ runs its grill inside Balneario Municipal El Aserradero, Bacalar's public swimming spot, blending Yucatecan and Lebanese flavors from the family recipes behind it.

It's young, open only since 2024, but it already shows up at the Festival Gastronómico del Caribe Mexicano. Couples book weddings here too, with the lagoon and public beach standing in for a private venue.

The atmosphere and music was perfect, food was great as well. I definitely recommend aguachiles negro and chicken Alfredo. Julian was our server and attended us immediately. Great place for a night dinner.

Service and food was great ! We ordered Aguachile and it was amazing, victor our waiter made us feel very welcomed in town. The view breath taking away ❤️

Obsessed with this place❤️ the atmosphere was amazing with a fully open outdoor restaurant right on the water. The the waiter was very attentive and no long wait for food. The food was exceptional. Best ceviche I’ve ever had and amazing drinks. It is on the pricey side but it was definitely worth it

Excellent choice we were just passing by and said lets try. 2 of us ordered the ceviche the other two people in our party ordered the “molcajete de mariscos” we tried each other and food was excellent, Victor took the time to explain what the molcajete has and did a little modification but very good taste, excellent service. You can’t go wrong eating here.

Beautiful restaurant right on the lagoon with a very pleasant atmosphere and great music. The highlight for us was definitely the meat — perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavour. We tried several dishes, including meat and vegetables, shrimp and vegetables on skewers, and a plate with meat, vegetables, and cheese, and everything was delicious. We also had shrimp tacos and a burger. The burger was excellent. The bun was nice, the meat patty was huge and juicy, and it was loaded with plenty of fresh avocados and cheese. This burger was full of great flavours. We liked it so much that we came back the next day to try more. If we stayed longer, we would definitely keep coming back. Highly recommend.
