Prendido Café opened August 1, 2025, on Ponciano Aguilar, a few steps from Plaza de la Paz. The launch gave away flat whites to the first fifty guests and ran a DJ set that night, and the shop has kept a similar energy since: a small counter turning out matcha berry foam, a tiramisu latte, and standard filter and cold brew alongside plant-based milk options.
It reads as one of the newer entries in the historic center's coffee scene, aimed at a younger crowd that wants somewhere to sit alone with a laptop as much as somewhere to meet friends. Check the daily specials on Instagram, @prendido_cafe, before they sell out; the space is small enough that a busy Saturday means standing room.

Stopped by for a cold dirty chai to go and it was flawless. The chill of the drink paired with the warm spices and smooth espresso made it the ideal companion for my evening stroll. Not too sweet, perfectly balanced, and incredibly refreshing. Highly recommend!
