A dusty government showroom for real, handmade craft

The Ensemble Artisanal is Tetouan's official craft cooperative, a government-run showroom just outside the medina walls. Leatherworkers, coppersmiths and weavers sell their own work here, all under one roof instead of scattered across the souk's specialist corners, the tanneries near the cemetery gate, the copper workshops, the woodworkers.

Some shelves collect dust and the place rarely feels busy. But nothing here is imported, everything is handmade, which makes the visit worth it even without the souk's energy.

Good to know

• Prices are fixed and generally fair, a good benchmark before medina souk haggling.
• Some stock looks untouched for a while, everything is still handmade though, worth a look regardless.
