A new life for an old Macuti beach address

Ouriço Beach Bar sits where Restaurante Biques used to be, on Praia de Biques in Macuti. Biques closed for good, and Ouriço took over the spot. Regulars still call it "antigo Biques" out of habit.

The menu changed too. Biques ran a steakhouse and seafood spot, Ouriço leans into cocktails. It's a looser beach bar for a sunset drink with sand underfoot, part of Macuti's row of beachfront restaurants rather than a rival to them.

Good to know

• It's built on the old Restaurante Biques site, locals still sometimes call it "antigo Biques."
• Good for a sunset cocktail before dinner elsewhere in Macuti.
