Wood-fired pizza and garden seating on Hage Geingob Avenue
The Fig Tree sits on Hage Geingob Avenue, a short walk from Grootfontein's main junction. It's family-run, not a chain. Breakfast starts at 7:30am and the kitchen runs through lunch with wood-fired pizza, burgers, steaks and salads. Garden seating out back fills up on weekends.
It closes early for a restaurant: 3:30pm most weekdays, 3pm on Saturdays. This is a daytime stop, not an evening one. Locals and self-drivers heading to Etosha or the Waterberg both end up here, since it's one of the few spots in town with a real menu instead of just takeaway.
Good to know
- Kitchen shuts at 3:30pm most days, so it's a lunch stop, not a dinner one.
- The wood-fired pizza is what regulars order twice.

It is the best food and service you can get in grootfontein. The portions is big enough to keep you full through the day. The waiters are keen to help and are willing for substutions with the food and are very allergy friendly

Absolutely the most fantastic place to eat and relax in Grootfontein. During our stay we went several times there and had different meals which were all delicious. The value for money is excellent. The place itself is just beautiful and tranquil and the staff is just amazing. Hammer and Ivonne became like family to us. We definitely can recommend this place!
