Most bars in Thamel sit at street level, packed in with the shops and guesthouses. Ninth Wave doesn't. It's on the ninth floor of Aarya Hotel & Spa, above the rooftops, with hand-carved woodwork nodding to Nepalese craft and a modern cocktail list to match.

On a clear evening the mountains show up on the horizon. Come for the height as much as the drinks.
