Free cappuccinos for anyone who walked in: that's how Maud van den Bergh marked her relaunch of Barista Cafe's Grote Houtstraat branch on 27 May 2026. New team, renovated interior, a terrace facing one of the prettiest corners of the street.
She was 22 when she took over the branch on 1 February 2026 and spent months rebuilding it before that day. The branch keeps the chain's usual rhythm, open daily from 08:30 to 17:00.

This cafe is a true hidden gem in Harleem town, it’s has a truly great vibe and very welcoming atmosphere. The Berry Yogurt bowl is totally delicious and filling, I had it several times during my visit. Home made cakes are beyond temping and great selection of coffees. A special heartfelt thank you for make the out of town customer feel very welcomed Rosa, Charelle, Bram and the wonderful manager Maud ❤️ A must visit with friends or alone like me 🥰

Nice shop Clerks are friendly. Apple pie is nice. I had lattle it's ok. Will be back again.

Love this bar! The servers are polite and helpful. Kids friendly: there’s a kids corner with toys and the ambiance is just comfortable for families. The food is authentic and suitable for who is vegetarian. There’s no huge menu but I can tell is really good.

Cappuccino and flat white were good but not exceptional. Cheese cake was tasty but same here, would not outstanding. Atmosphere is good, staff is super friendly.

Had a lovely brunch with our group of ten. The staff was able to accommodate all of our orders in a timely manner and checked on us often to make sure that we had enough coffee and water. Most of the group had the pancakes with fruit and pieces of meringue. Very yummy. The breakfast burrito and croissant were also well received! Thank you!
